Meet Your Photographer.
Hi, I’m Ruby
I serve a little corner of paradise in the British Columbian Rocky mountains- the perfect backdrop for any photo.
My photography journey began in Africa when I was 21. I was obsessed with documenting every moment to relive later. It blossomed as I welcomed my daughter into the world and chased her around (If you think climbing a mountain is hard, try climbing a mountain with a toddler and a camera ⍤ ) Then, about 8 years ago, I decided to switch my focus from the makeup industry where I worked with A-list clients to photography. I started taking photography courses, learning online, seeking mentors, and improving my craft.
Even more than creating “perfect poses” I focus on making everyone comfortable and creating natural imagery. It’s about the moment. When you look back at your photos, I want you to think “wow that was such a fun day”. Feelings > perfection any day. (But just in case you’re wondering, yes I will also make sure you look DAMN FINE.)
My tourism work tends to take me all over the country, exploring hidden pockets of beauty. I often find myself chasing untold stories, and making new friends. As a family journalist, we frequently get invited as a full trio and I feel blessed to share all my passions with my hubby (of 18 years) and daughter.
I am based out of Valemount, BC, on the unceded territories of the Secwépemc and Lhedli T'enneh First Nations, with my 13 year old daughter and my husband.
Some Facts About Me
3 summer’s ago my husband bribed my daughter with a pet hamster to do a freestyle airbag bike jump. I was opposed to hammy, but he quickly became a special part of our family and now I love him!
I am a pandemic sourdough baker. Now I couldn’t live without homemade bread.
I’ve solo-hiked over 50km in one trip (over 3 days).
My parents met on a plane. ✈
I don’t mind horror movies but can’t watch true crime. It makes me so sad!

About our Journalism.
(aka: our famjam)
Incorporating our daughter into our nomadic lifestyle has been easy, but finding resources hasn’t always been. This lack of family journalism inspired me to follow my lifelong passion of writing, and to share our experiences with others.
We focus on impactful storytelling. I love spinning a narrative that brightens people’s lives and has a positive influence on the world.
While some family travel specialists cover amusement parks- I see nature as our playground. Our work focuses on undiscovered gems, unique environments, self-discovery, connection, and of course: landscapes that will leave you breathless.
