Mighty As…
Usually, I lOVE seeing photos I’ve taken for clients posted on social media, but when I saw an image I had taken for A’s family last winter associated with a fundraiser, I was absolutely heartbroken.
They had just recently bought a house in town with the intention of spending more time together. Within months of moving here, their son was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. For well over a year, their house sat empty as they dropped everything to accommodate for their son’s fight against cancer.
But this is actually a HAPPY story, as their son has recently completed his treatment and they were able to return home. * YAY *
This session was utter chaos between 2 toddlers, a child, a large body of water, and an 80+lb dog. I loved every second of it: their daughter’s adventurous spirit, their middle son’s requests for cuddles, the oldest son’s curiosity. The parents didn’t have time for themselves, let alone to acknowledge my presence which meant I was able to capture their life in true authenticity.
As with all clients, I was so honoured to have been chosen to capture their family, but I have to admit, this session hit a little differently. <3
